Convincing A Stubborn Client To Accept A Settlement Offer Rather Than Going To Court

Talking a stubborn client into accepting a settlement offer

Many clients that I have represented have never been in an automobile accident or had a personal injury prior to contacting me. They are relying on my expertise and knowledge to guide them through the process. Usually, they will defer to my opinions about most matters about their case with one exception, whether to settle the claim or file a lawsuit.

Dealing With Non-Standard Insurance Companies

Non-standard insurance companies

While there are many highly rated, good quality auto insurance companies out there, there are equally as many, if not more, sub or non-standard ones out there as well. These non-standard companies exist for several different reasons. As a consumer, be aware, because as the old adage goes, you get what you pay for!

What To Do When A Client Disappears On You

How to handle the situation when you cannot locate a client

Throughout my years of practice, it seems like every year I have a handful of clients that just up and disappear. The phone number is disconnected. The mail gets returned to sender. And thus, the file sits. Even though one of the first things that I tell all of my clients is to notify me if they move, change their phone number or plan on leaving town for an extended period of time, some of them just vanish. People, don’t do that!!

Don’t Steal Cases and Clients From Other Attorneys

Why stealing clients from other attorneys is not good practice

Every so often I will get a letter from another personal injury attorney letting me know that one of my clients is firing me and hiring him or her to represent them. Whenever this happens, a few things always run through my mind. First, why didn’t the new attorney call me first before stealing away my client? Second, wouldn’t the new attorney want to know about the case before he or she steals it from another attorney? And lastly, karma is a %*tch!!

If A Personal Injury Attorney Tells You How Much Money Your Case Is Worth On Day 1…………RUN!!!

Don't trust personal injury attorneys who will tell you what your case is worth shortly after the accident/incident happened

Often times I have had potential clients tell me that, “they spoke with another attorney and he/she guaranteed me that he/she would get me at least $10,000.00 on my accident claim.” My answer is always the same, “that is impossible!” It is 100% not possible to determine the value of a personal injury claim shortly after an accident or incident occurred.
